Coffs City United FC - History

Coffs City United is a football club with a long tradition and history of success built upon hard work, dedication and a love for soccer.

For more than 25 years the old Coffs City Lions and North Coffs Sports clubs and the newer merged entity of Coffs Harbour City United (1989-90) have achieved unparalleled local success at both senior and junior level. This success has been both on and off the field as the Club strives to be a community based entity rather than just a football club.

Without doubt the last 10 years have been hugely successful for the Club with wonderful success in all levels of football. This is not just about winning, it is about how people have helped the Club and its' players to achieve to their best levels.

Junior football is the lifeblood of any Club. Our Club has been a strong nursery for emerging talent and we have always given the "ordinary player" an equal opportunity.

Playing, coaching or refereeing careers are begun in our Club and all of our Committees have given great support, encouragement and financial assistance to any player who aspires to advance in their chosen area of excellence.

On the playing field it is not much different as all players play for the love of the game and for their Club.

Locally the Premier League competition has struggled in recent years to be the elite league that existed in the early 1990's. However, this may be a cyclical stage attributed to the economics of this region or the fact that players have more options today than they had in the early days of this league.

Whatever the competition or requirement, our Club sets the standard and has been the envy of the majority of our opposition Clubs. This will never change and it is our challenge to ensure that we are prepared to always lead the rest.

Our Club Committee thanks you for the interest you have shown in our Club and encourage you to support our activities. Your sponsorship will be greatly appreciated and you will benefit from the support of our 350 players and their families.
